A small, cramped office room as a make shift studio, donuts from Sugar Rush bakery and an excited (but nervous) Maggie set the stage for this shoot a few months back.
We setup the lighting equipment and backdrop while Maggie prepared for the first outfit and I could tell she was nervous. It wasn't a big deal but as with many clients (whether they are doing fashion or headshots), you have to talk them through those initial jitters. We were also shooting tethered and I asked her if she preferred to see her images on screen or not - she said NO WAY. :) Not a problem, everyone is different.
But something was missing. She was still feeling a little awkward, understandably so with so many people in the room watching and commenting on the images. Finally, it clicked! Music! A quiet set, even if we are making small talk back and forth, just isn't as alive as one with music playing in the background. As we chose music that she liked and we moved on into other outfits, she got more and more comfortable and we were able to create some great images for the magazine!
Great job again Maggie! Link to the MB online article here.
